Catalina State Park weekend programs: Birding by Ear, Saturday Nature Program and Sunday Guided Bird Walk

Catalina State Park, Trailhead parking lot and Trailhead Picnic Area · Tucson

Saturday starts with a 7 a.m. walk learning common bird calls from the trailhead parking lot, then a family-friendly Sonoran Desert exhibit with live reptiles at the Trailhead Picnic Area from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday has a volunteer-led bird walk through the park leaving the trailhead lot at 8 a.m. for three to four hours.

Getting in

Programs are free with park entry: $10 per vehicle (1 person), $20 per vehicle (2–4 people), $5 per individual or bicycle.

No registration; pay park entry at the gate (after-hours self-pay is cash, exact change). Bring binoculars for the bird walks. Construction vehicles and noise on the main park road through May 2027. Park phone 520-628-5798.
