How it works
prowl is a weekend roundup that does the homework: it searches the way a local who really cares would, then checks every listing against the organizer before it goes up.
The rules
- A fixed contract per weekend. Exact dates in local time, a named list of communities, and a short exclusion list: private events and drink specials. Everything public is in, from concerts and club nights to farmers markets; you filter.
- Search wide, then check close. Dozens of sweeps across areas, categories, ticketing sites, city calendars and the organizers who announce things in newsletters. Then each candidate is verified on its own.
- Day by day. A run of a show isn't a performance on Saturday. A season isn't proof a farm is open on Friday. Hours and prices are stored per day.
- Every listing cites its sources, and each citation says exactly which claim it backs. A separate audit re-reads every cited page before publishing.
- Nothing disappears silently. Candidates that didn't make it are on the What we checked page with the reason.
- Uncertainty is shown, not hidden. When a city calendar and an organizer disagree, you'll see a "Heads up".
What it isn't
A census. Private, unlisted and last-minute events slip through any search. This is a broad, sourced roundup with its limits written down.
